Miss Black Ohio 2017-18
As Miss Black Ohio, I will make it my personal mission to influence all young women to not only see the beauty on their outsides, but also on the inside. I will teach the world that you don't have to be just beautiful and you don't have to be just smart”- Josephine Johnson
Crowned Miss Black Ohio 2017
Columbus, OH: Miss Black Ohio Pageant was finalized on March 31, 2017. Miss Black Ohio announced today, their finalist in the Miss Black Ohio pageant, Miss Josephine Johnson of Beavercreek, Ohio. Surrounded by family and friends. My goal is to inspire girls who struggle with weight and who have self-esteem issues to redefine the definition of beauty.
She is a recent graduate from Central State University (5-6-2017), with a concentration in Engineering, and a proud member of Zeta Phi Zeta Christian Sorority, Inc. Miss Johnson was very active in the color-guard flag team, Science Technology Engineer Math (STEM) and other programs that helped strengthen her self-esteem. Her desire is to help other young ladies to strive for an education in STEM, which is highly underrepresented by African American females.
This position will provide me with the platform to make a bigger impact on the young women in my community and on the young women of color across the state of Ohio. #flaggirl #colorguard#cocaptain
As Miss Black Ohio I will make it my personal mission to influence all young women to not only see the beauty on their outsides, but also on the inside. I will teach the world that you don't have to be just beautiful and you don't have to be just smart. I will teach everyone that black women can have brains and beauty. Being a queen is about more than looks, it is about making a change for those around you and helping others to reach their full potential.
