March 24, 2009- Columbus, OH
March 24, 2009--Columbus, Ohio. The Miss Black Ohio Pageant has partnered with the Hispania Coalition of Columbus by which they will host for the first time the Miss Latina Ohio USA Pageant.
As the Ohio area expands we wanted to encompass all of what Ohio has to offer. We want to embrace other culturals within our community with the hope of bridging the gaps of employment, education, and over the empowerment of our youth.
"We want this to happen for our community, and this is a really good idea." says Jorge of the Coalition.
Our objective is to mentor young ladies in particular those who are first generation college bound students. Our dream is to inspire them to achieve academic excellence. It is our purpose to assist them in attaining skills, personal development and the creation of good habits. We believe that this inspiration will empower them to become confident, educated, and esteemed young women.
We are pleased to be working with the Hispania community and will seek support from all who have a hands on approach to marry these two groups.
"We will continue to represent the State of Ohio and work with our youth in our communities but if we can help another culture to be success we will pursue them as well." It is not just about us but our youth are the ones in grave need of our support and we feel that the Miss Black Ohio Pageant is a great avenue to stir their success.
